The Barbados Ball Award
The Barbados Ball Award recognizes outstanding Barbadians residing in Canada, for professional acclaim and/or community service. Recipients of the Barbados Ball Award are celebrated at the annual Barbados Ball and presented with a crystal trophy, a symbol of the high esteem in which they are held. Criteria and selection process for The Barbados Ball Award:
Criteria
- Barbadian descent - a citizen of Barbados by birth or naturalization, or a person whose parents or grandparents (one or both) are/were citizens of Barbados;
- Resident in Canada;
- Professional excellence;
- Recognized community service;
- Improved the lives of others; and
- Inspires others by being a role model
Selection Process
- The Award Selection Committee is comprised of two members of the board of directors;
- The award recipient is selected from a list of potential awardees compiled from public records and recommendations by board members, member associations and others; and
- The selection is approved by the board of directors.
