The Barbados Charity Ball Award
The Barbados Charity Ball Award recognizes outstanding Barbadian models of success residing in Canada, for professional acclaim and/or community service. Recipients of the Barbados Charity Ball Award (previously "The Errol Walton Barrow Award") are celebrated at the annual Barbados Charity Ball and presented with a crystal 'Everest' trophy, a symbol of the high esteem in which they are held.
The criteria and selection process for The Barbados Charity Ball Award are:
Criteria
· Barbadian descent - a citizen of Barbados by birth or naturalization, or a person whose parents (one or both) are/were citizens of Barbados;
or grandparents are/were citizens of Barbados;
· Resident in Canada;
· Professional excellence;
· Recognized community service;
· Improved the lives of others; and
· Inspires others by being a role model
Selection Process
· The Award Selection Committee is comprised of two members of the board of directors;
· The award recipient is selected from a list of potential awardees compiled from public records and recommendations by board members,
member associations and others; and
· The selection is approved by the board of directors
