Welcome to Barbados Ball Canada Aid (BBCA)
Hello, I am Steve Kirton, president of Barbados Ball Canada Aid (BBCA) and on behalf of Barbados Ball Canada Aid, I welcome you to our website.
BBCA is a not-for-profit organization formed in 2003 that is dedicated to supporting the Barbadian community in Canada and Barbados. We are a membership organization consisting of Barbadian organizations in Canada, Barbadian nationals living in Canada and friends of Barbados. BBCA provides scholarships to Barbadian youth attending college and university in Canada, donates vital medical equipment to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Barbados and supports healthcare programs and services in Canada and Barbados. We also assist Barbadians in need and recognize outstanding Barbadians in Canada for their accomplishments.
Our signature fundraising event, the Barbados Charity Ball, has been held in Toronto since 2004. Patrons of this gala Black Tie affair are treated to an evening of genuine Bajan hospitality and enjoy a four-course dinner complete with Bajan culinary experience and entertainment by Barbadian artistes. Over 500 people support this significant fundraising event each year and the Ball has now become one of the premiere social events in Toronto.
I wish to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors, donors and volunteers, and all who have served and continue to serve on the Board of
Directors of Barbados Ball Canada Aid. Your contributions are of immense value to the Barbadian community in Canada and Barbados and I extend my most sincere thanks. I look forward to working with you.
As a visitor to this website and our Facebook page you will be informed of our activities and if you are not already supporting our charitable
efforts I encourage to you to make a contribution by assisting us in whatever way you can.
Sincerely
Steve Kirton

Thanks for Making the 2012 Ball A Success!
If you were one of the 685 Barbadians and friends of Barbados who filled the North Ballroom at the Toronto Congress Centre on Saturday, June 9th, 2012 to "Feel the Spirit of Crop Over" at the 9th Annual Barbados Ball, or one of our sponsors, advertisers or donors to the silent and live auctions, thank you for your support!
This Ball was our most successful to date and guests enjoyed a fabulous dinner prepared with the assistance of international Barbadian chef Peter Edey, who returned to the Ball for the 2nd year running; and electrifying entertainment headlined by Edwin Yearwood and krosfyah, one of the Caribbean's leading Soca artistes. Thanks to the tremendous support of our guests, sponsors, door prize and auction donors, volunteers, Planning Committee members and star jockey Patrick Husbands, the Ball was a huge success. Thank you all! And special thanks to Patrick for helping us achieve our fundraising goal.
This year, as in the last two years, we were able to grant scholarships totalling $15,000 to 5 youth attending college and university and will be donating medical equipment to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
